Before I was a Mom...

So, I got this FWD e-mail that was actually pretty good...

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something s o small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night (sometimes every 10 minutes) to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

______________

I came up with a few of my own...

Mine: BEFORE I WAS A MOM I…
I didn’t know how fast I could take a complete shower, while singing at the top of my lungs – with the shower door OPEN for full baby entertainment
Could do the dishes – uninterrupted –or complete all steps of doing the laundry in one afternoon I never had Big boobies
Didn’t know That I could type with one hand
Didn't disinfect EVERYTHING
Never nursed a baby in the back seat of a car or standing up in a restaurant restroom because there was no chair or nursing where ever I am
Never learned to eat with my LEFT hand (I’m right-handed)
Didn’t know How many song I could make up about poopoo & peepee
Ate warm green beans, hot pizza, & un-melted ice cream
Didn't even worry about if there was a drive thru or not
Never knew How much my body could change
Never went to church smelling like spit-up
Didn't think about loud vs quiet restaurants
Could finish checking my e-mail in one sitting
Didn't fully understand some parts of the Bible (understanding the Father to Child heart of God)
Didn't know I could LOVE so much

So, Mommy's..... Hit comments and share some of yours...

(P.S.- Happy Veterans Day )

Comment from AtlantaMama's MOM:

Before I was a MOM...

I thought couples slept WITHOUT a child between them
I didn't know what "purple snapper shoes" were (velcro tennis shoes - and purple is hard to find!)
I didn't realize every child's show that comes to town - like Sesame Street on Ice - MUST be attended
Music was to enjoy - without Salty the Singing Songbook
I didn't know what it felt like to be hugged by your child
I didn't know the grief a mom feels when her child leaves for college
I didn't know my child would end up being my friend
I never knew I could love so much
