Pregnancy Update at 34 Weeks

34 Weeks! WOW, it's going by fast!
baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. The fat layers — which she/he'll need to regulate their body temperature once she's born — are filling the baby out, making her/him rounder. The baby's skin is also smoother than ever. His/Her central nervous system is maturing and their lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

My Update at 34 Weeks + my OB apt report
Everything is going well! My visit this week was just short and sweet... but I got to hear his heart beat (high 130:s range) and it seemed that everything was good. My tummy measured exactly right. The OB just reassured me that the pressure down low is just part of a second pregnancy. I mainly feel it when I have been standing up or walking too long. Once I sit down or take a bath, I feel better. It 's not pain, it just feels like something tight down low. But overall... everything is great. The baby is healthy and moving around a lot!! He gets hiccups almost everyday and I feel a steady beat of movement in there. So funny. We STILL have to choose a name!!!!!! It's almost time...

So glad all looks good. We didn't choose our sons name until a couple hours after he was born...the doctor helped pick it. I love that we have that story to tell.
